Japan started a tradition called nyotaimori, which became common in the 1960’s. It is the practice of having a naked woman lying on a table with food on her while guests eat the food of her.

The male model version is called nantaimori. Of course, it’s a naked male lying down with food on them.

​

The concept caught on in different countries. Many keep it to the original concept. Since the concept started in Japan the concept was intended for sushi to be placed on the person.

​

There are enough people who like sushi for people to enjoy the concept in its original form. But, there are a lot of people who don’t like sushi for serves a unique niche.

There are few businesses, mostly caterers, that may provide a services. They may provide alternatives to sushi.

​

Some concerns from a public official standpoint is the sexual context. Sexuality is always a problem with the general public. There are those who despise sexuality, which is why there is such a harsh pressure against. The people who respect and enjoy sexuality for what it is naturally intended to be. Then there is the criminal element of rape, trafficking and other related issues, which complicates regulations and add fear for those who already despise it.

Another issue of concern is temperature control. Health departments regulate kitchens in attempt to create a safe environment. Placing food on a body for display for others to take the food and consume provides concern for health risk. Whether the surface is used is clean for the intention provided. And there is the temperature concern. Considering it’s at room temperature and temp range is outside the safety zone of what health departments are concerned.

Going out to eat is not necessary. A lot of people do enjoy going somewhere else to eat. Even for those who eat at home are entertained by television. Nyotamari provides for a unique experience. It provides food at an intriguing way of displaying it. There is nothing wrong with it.

For those who have issues with sexuality, don’t get involved. Let those who can enjoy such an experience with respect take there place.
